Sea Story

⇐ Go Back

Tell a story about the sea. If possible, use real props such as seaweed, driftwood and sea shells. Encourage the child to talk about the sea, ships and sealife. You could also sing songs or recite poems about the sea, such as The Owl and the Pussy Cat, The Big Ship Sails Through the Ally Ally O or Row Row Row Your Boat. This activity is a good way to encourage the use of imagination, to create fantasies and introduce new vocabulary.
